Get your heart pumping in this high-intensity, low-impact aquatic workout! Utilize bodyweight, water weights, and water resistance for effective cardiovascular exercise!

Aqua Challenge!

Aqua Challenge will push the limits of what you are capable of! A combination of dry land and pool-based exercises will ensure that you get an incredible workout and dive out of your comfort zone.

Aqua Core Blast

Get an effective core workout all while floating in our pool. Utilizing props such as pool noodles and water weights, you will challenge your core strength in this fun circuit-style class!

Aqua Dance

A pool dance class that incorporates strength, range of motion and water exercises. This innovative dance class in the water set to music promotes self-expression and joyful freedom of movement.

Aqua HIIT/EMOM

High-intensity interval training provides proven results in terms of losing weight. With this aquatic twist, you will derive the same benefits while taking the impact off your joints! Short, intense work intervals with even shorter short rest periods will ensure you burn as many calories as possible!

Aqua Meditation

Guided practice in the water to help calm and ease your mind and body. Allow the water to wash away your excess stress and mind chatter leaving you feeling lighter and more mentally restored from the comfort and warmth of our onsite pool. This practice may begin with a focus on breathing techniques and includes scanning the body, mindfulness, mantras, and guided imagery.

Aqua Mobility

Join us at the pool for an aquatic twist on our daily mobility class. Utilizing the flexibility and buoyancy of the water, you will stretch out tight muscles and work to improve your mobility.

Aqua Strong

Switch up your regular strength training regimen by hitting the pool. This class will utilize body weight, foam weights, and water resistance for a fun and challenging strength workout! Join us at the Skyterra Natatorium to build muscle without the impact!

Aqua Yoga

Come utilize the water’s properties and gain maximum benefit from each pose. Expect to reclaim your balance while taking pressure off sensitive joints, flow from posture to posture, build strength with the water’s resistance, and dive into a more expansive yoga practice.

Balance Training

Do you have difficulty standing on one leg? Learn exercises that will easily fit into your current routine so you can improve your balance while safeguarding yourself from injury.

Black Balsam Knob (Moderate)

Black Balsam Knob via Art Loeb Trail is a 1.5 mile moderately trafficked out-and-back trail located near Canton, North Carolina that features beautiful wildflowers in the spring and great views year round. This trail is about an hour from campus, located directly by graveyard fields. This trail is a rock face, uphill trail that crests at a 360 degree view. Dogs are able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Bodyweight + Bands

This class is strength and stability-based and also incorporates great mobility. One of the healthiest ways you can strengthen your muscle fibers is through a slow, stabilizing resistance.

Bridal Veil Falls (Moderate)

Bridal Veil Falls is a 3.5 mile, highly trafficked trail located near Cedar Mountain, NC that features a waterfall. This waterfall is the location where a scene from Last of the Mohicans was filmed. This trail has a drive time of 40 minutes. The trail is good for all skill levels and is primarily used for hiking, trail running, horses, and mountain biking. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.

BW Blitz – Bodyweight Blitz

Take a break from weights and focus on what you already have: your body! This fitness class primarily focuses on bodyweight movements in a workout design that is very transferable to home.

Cardio Circuit

Recovery-based workout comprised of cardio intervals on the treadmill, rower and/or elliptical combined with bodyweight movements such as jumping jacks and mountain climbers.

Cardio Crash

Bring your energy and spunk to this interactive group fitness class. Cardio crash is cardio-based, but offers great full-body strength increments to keep you challenged and moving.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is practiced sitting in a chair or using a chair for support. Pulling inspiration from yoga movements, this gentler format is perfect for the office, travel, and for those who may have limitations getting on or off the ground.

Circuit Training

In this fitness class, we’ll teach you a functional way to exercise that’s simple to execute at home. You will boost your metabolism, burn fat and improve your stamina by combining cardio and strength intervals.

Composition Clarity

Just as the name suggests, this class is all about clarity. You will be guided through your InBody screening, not just seeing numbers, but learning the functions, implications and truths in your body composition. Bring your InBody screening and all the questions you have to this informational discussion.

Connect

Connect class starts the day with breathing exercises, meditation, light stretching and honoring unplugged space.

Conquering Cardio

There is an overload of information when it comes to cardiovascular training. This class helps to narrow the focus and give you an efficient cardio workout strategy, while defining what counts as cardio, and how to effectively fit it into your life.

Conquering Cravings

Trying to better understand why you struggle with food cravings? Do you struggle to put the fork down? Does the pantry call your name? This class explores topics such as emotional eating, binge eating, mindful eating and underlying traits that may make eating out of control more challenging for some individuals. Supportive strategies and tools will be provided.

Core + Balance

This fitness class is a core-based and engages the balance and stability of the entire body.

Core Circuit

This fitness class will give you a great core workout in a circuit style set up. Our abdomen incorporates many muscles groups so this class has a great full core approach.

Core Strength

Classic core conditioning class involving all abdominal muscle groups. Movements include crunch variations, bicycle abs, lower-back strengtheners and oblique exercises.

Culinary Demo

Our chef leads you through the creation of healthy, nourishing, delicious, seasonal meals and snacks. Ask questions, learn techniques and learn to incorporate new skills, ingredients and recipes into your meals.

Daily Mobility

This quick and easy-to-follow class is a great practice to take home. Movements require minimal to no equipment. This is a quick ten-minute practice and each day we focus on a different area of the body.

Dance Fitness

A low-impact dance class that incorporates cardio exercises to improve strength, agility, balance, mental acuity and flexibility.The class is appropriate for varying skill levels and utilizes empowering upbeat music.

Deep Water Conditioning

From a base position of treading water, you will go through various movements utilizing floatation belts, foam weights, and water resistance. Take part in an intense, total body strength and cardio workout without even touching the bottom of the pool!

DuPont Falls (Difficult)

Dupont State Forest is an outdoor lover’s dream! This hike includes three different waterfalls in one hike. This is a six-mile hike with a moderate grade. The trail is well maintained and follows the scenic little river. This trail has a 40 minute drive time.

EMOM

One of our most transferable workouts for home, EMOM stands for every minute on the minute. This class includes movements with timing of :40 of work with :20 of full recovery. All movements are strength- and cardio-based, and easily doable with little equipment.

Fitness Redefined

Traditional protocols use exercise as a primary driver for weight loss, focusing entirely on caloric expenditure. We understand that obesity is a hormone game, which may completely flip the paradigm of how you look at fitness. After this presentation, you’ll be able to figure out what type of fitness you can do for the rest of your life and understand the importance of consistent movement.

Flow and Restore

This class offers an efficient way to nurture your entire body and is the best of both worlds! Class begins with flowing postures and breath awareness to build heat and openness, and then leads into longer held restorative postures to create more length and space in the body.

Foot and Ankle Mobility

Your feet are your foundation and the first defense in helping the rest of your body perform. This class will teach you how to improve ankle range of motion and train you to take care of your feet with simple techniques that go a long way!

French Broad River Float

It’s not every day that you get to float down a river in a tube! This relaxing, guided float trip takes about 45-60 minutes to complete with no skill or experience required.

French Broad River Kayak

Take an 8-mile float down the 3rd oldest river in the world! Choose between a 2-person canoe or a sit-on-top kayak. The river does have some faster spots, but overall this is a gentle float and a very relaxing way to see the mountains.

Gentle Flow Yoga

Gentle yoga practice to help release stress and tension through gentle stretching and movement linked with breath. This class moves at a slow pace, has minimal transitions from up to down, and minimal weight-bearing on the wrists.

Gratitude Meditation

Guided mindfulness meditation using various breathing techniques with a focus and intention on cultivating gratitude.

Knee Mobility

Achy knees are not normal and are often due to tight quads and tight calves. During this specialty mobility class, you’ll pinpoint the restrictions all around your knees and loosen up the fascia (connective tissue) that is causing aches and pains.

Ladder Workout

No physical ladders involved! This fitness class is programmed to have ascending or descending repetition schemes with a clear end goal in sight. How quickly can you finish?

Looking Glass Rock (Difficult)

Looking Glass Rock Trail is a 5.3 mile, heavily trafficked, out-and-back trail located in Brevard, NC that features a small waterfall and an overlook at the end. This trail is rated as difficult and has a drive time of 20 minutes. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are able to use this trail.

Low Back Mobility

Eighty percent of Americans will suffer from lower back pain at some point in their lives. Get in front of the pain by joining us for this specialty mobility class where you will learn quick tricks for solving and fixing lower back stiffness.

Luck of the Draw

This class is all up to chance, or at least up to the cards you have been dealt. Each suit in the card deck represents an exercise, and the number of the card will determine the number of repetitions for the exercise. Come try this high-intensity fun group class to switch up your workout experience.

Mastering Mobility

There are a host of possible muscular imbalances and lifestyle errors that can be contributing to your quality of life. Moores Cove Falls Trail is a 1.2 mile, heavily trafficked, out-and-back trail located near Pisgah Forest, NC that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. This trail has a drive time of 20 minutes. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips and bird watching and is best used from April until September. Dogs are able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Move Well Strength

Learn Skyterra’s essential movements that will improve your everyday life. In this class, you will learn, create and develop better positions leaving you empowered and confident about movements in our signature LEAN class.

Move Well Yoga

This class is a safe space for all levels to learn the foundations of common postures used in yoga. Begin to explore the connection between your breath and your body to cultivate a sense of inner peace.

Nutrition Redefined

This seminar is a foundational nutrition class. We will discuss our nutrition philosophy and you will leave with a better understanding of what foods to prioritize in a tailored nutrition plan. We will cover the importance of macronutrients (fat, protein, carbohydrates and fiber) as well as meal planning.

Outdoor Circuit !

Tired of being stuck indoors for all your workouts? Get outdoors for this circuit class. You’ll join our instructors across the Skyterra campus in a combination of fast walk intervals, core and strength exercises.

Outdoor Gardening

Check out our on-campus garden while learning all about the numerous benefits of gardening as a hobby, then dig into all the dirt-y secrets of what it takes to grow healthy produce.

Partner Workout !

Energize your average workout with camaraderie! This team-based partner class with alternating movements will be sure to inspire your competitive spirit. Partners are not required nor necessary. You will be teamed up upon arrival.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and ping pong. Fun, quick-paced and simple to learn, this new game is catching on quickly with all ages. May be played in doubles or singles.

Power of Your Mind

Come explore brain science and gain a greater understanding of why we do — or don’t — do what we do. We will identify the barriers we live with that obstruct our views of a thriving life. Rainbow Falls (Moderate)

Rainbow Falls Trail is a 3.5 mile, heavily trafficked out-and-back trail located near Lake Toxaway, NC. This hike features a 150-foot waterfall and is rated as moderate with a drive time of 40 minutes. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year round. Dogs are able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Raise the Bar

This talk is about strength training and the benefits it has on our body in regards to body composition and quality of life. In this class, you will learn an efficient way to set up a fitness strategy for home.

Resistance Bands

Similar to free weights at the gym, resistance bands come in a variety of sizes and strengths. This session involves a full-body strength training routine teaching highly portable exercises for home.

Restorative Yoga

Gentle yoga practice designed to help reset and restore the nervous system. Poses are held for longer periods of time while being completely supported by props so the body and mind are allowed to completely relax and release tension. There are very few transitions. It is a great practice to help reduce stress and help your body recover.

Roll + Stretch

This class is a must after long walks, hikes and fitness classes. Our fitness specialists will take you through a full body stretch and roll routine that will encourage flexibility and fascia release. If you have tenderness, soreness, or even generally tight areas, you need this class.

Row + Strength

This is a full-body cardio and strength fitness class that uses a rowing machine.

Schoolhouse Falls (Moderate)

Schoolhouse Falls is a 2-mile, moderately trafficked, in-and-out trail located near Glenville, NC that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate/hard depending on the route. This trail has a drive time of 45 minutes. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year round. Dogs and horses are able to use this trail.

Shoulder Mobility

A lack of shoulder mobility is very common. Improving your mobility in this area will help to optimize movement, prevent pain, and reduce the risk of injury. Through soft tissue mobilization techniques and stretches, you will target the muscles around your shoulder and help to boost your mobility in this 30-minute class.

Simple Circuit

This fitness class has a cardio component and incorporates strength movements that will be a great addition to your day no matter your fitness level or goals.

Simple Strength

Strength training can be intimidating and pushed to the side in most fitness plans. Learn a simple way to implement six exercises for a full-body workout that is adaptable to your very own home.

Skyterra Circuit

This 30 minute fitness class is a full-body strength and cardio circuit using “Skyterra” as an acronym.

Skyterra Flow

Skyterra flow was inspired by the words, ‘sky’ and ‘earth’. Just like a tree, we must be rooted to be able to rise and stand tall with confidence. You will build strength and flexibility, match movement with breath, and will work with your individual body to create your best practice. With simple breathing exercises and mindful meditation, you will leave your mat energized and relaxed. This class is appropriate to all levels.

Skyterra Tread

Choose between the treadmill, NuStep, bike, or even elliptical for an instructor-guided cardio class. This class offers changing and adaptable intensities with variations in speed and incline to make for an exciting workout utilizing entirely cardio equipment.

Sleep Redefined

Tired all the time? Do you need to improve your sleeping habits? Sleep matters. We are living in a fast-paced world and are constantly stimulated by our environment and life stressors. No matter your age or how busy life may seem, maintaining a consistent and high-quality sleep routine is essential for optimal health. This lecture will dive into the importance of sleep and how to effectively create behavior change.

Sliding Rock

Sliding Rock is a natural waterslide located on Looking Glass Creek in Pisgah National Forest. This waterfall streams over broad, smooth rocks that you can sit on and slide down. It has a gentle slope and is about 60 feet long, ending in a large, deep pool (between six and seven feet deep) at the bottom. Lifeguards are on duty since this area is popular with visitors of all ages.

Slow Flow Yoga

This class builds a soft flow that unites breath and movement. Elements of sun salutations and other curated postures are designed to build a gentle internal heat. Moving slowly and intentionally inspires nourishment of the body, mind and breath.

Sneaky 6 !

One of Skyterra’s spiciest fitness classes, this class includes only six movements. Each participant completes two movements at a time finishing as many reps as possible in six minutes.

Soul Collage

Soul Collage is an experiential art process connecting you to your inner wisdom. It is a way of being artistically creative and exploring the personal meaning of the art that you create. Turn off your inner critic, turn on your inner child and play! The process is meditative. It is best done simply and without intention. It is always more than you think it will be and the cards always turn out amazing! You are able to take your art home as a special keepsake from your Skyterra experience.

Stone Mountain (Difficult)

Stone Mountain is the highest point in the DuPont State Recreational Forest at 3,620 feet. This lightly trafficked hike is a strenuous 5-mile out-and-back trail located at the top corner of the forest. Elevation gain on this hike is 1100 feet. The summit of this hike allows for 180 degree views in the spring and summer, and 360 degree views in the fall and winter. This trail has a drive time of 25 minutes.

Strength + Core + Balance

This fitness class targets three areas that are crucial to our physical health. We cover a full body strength routine while incorporating balance and core work. This class is slow-paced, easy to follow, modify, or intensify.

Strength Training

This is our one-of-a-kind strength training class that focuses on quality movement, prioritizing only movements that matter for functional fitness and activities of daily living. Similar to group personal training, you’ll learn how to work out with very little equipment and be well on your way to getting LEAN in no time!

Stress Redefined

There is so much information out there about stress. Stress Redefined identifies practical means to achieving stress reduction through a personalized approach to everyday living. Stress reduction is achievable and in this class participants will understand the body’s physiological state when it is overexposed to stress, as well as how to cope with many forms of stressors.

Sunrise Yoga

Practice facing to the east to honor and greet the sun and a new day through breath, simple movements and body awareness. This class is 30 minutes and highlights ways to bring a morning yoga practice home with you.

Tabata Strong !

Created by Dr. Izumi Tabata, this style of exercise packs a large amount of work into a short period of time and has proven results in terms of weight loss. You will focus on each exercise for 8 rounds with a :20 second active period and a :10 rest period. This provides a challenging workout that is both aerobic and anaerobic in nature.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art dating back to the 16th century. This low-impact, self-paced martial art is practiced for both self-defense training, and for its health benefits. You will learn a basic Tai Chi form consisting of several moves that target basic balance and breath work.

Trail Walk

Our onsite trail system is a great place to walk outside and enjoy nature. Enjoy a group walk to see our natural surroundings.

Triple/High Falls Trail (Moderate)

Triple/High Falls Trail is a 4.4 mile heavily-trafficked loop located near Hendersonville, North Carolina. This hike features two breathtaking waterfalls. Triple Falls consists of three amazing cascades within 300 yards. High Falls is a 150-foot waterfall and is the largest waterfall in Dupont State Forest. This trail is rated as moderate with a drive time of 20 minutes and an elevation gain of almost 500 feet. The trail offers several different types of terrains and is accessible year-round. Dogs are able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

TRX !

This fitness class uses TRX bands to produce strength and increased. TRX bands are great for any level of fitness, and this class combines compound movements to encourage strength while also increasing and promoting mobility through joint stabilization.

Walk Run Well

Are you ready to see your stride in a whole new way? This skill-based class uses video analysis and corrective drills to revolutionize your walking and running. This unique opportunity will help you prevent injuries and maximize the efficiency of your movements.

Wall Mobility

Are you practicing self-maintenance on a daily basis? Soft tissue therapy and corrective exercise should be a part of everyone’s plan. Based on the common positions of daily living, these catch-all, easy-to-execute techniques will help you restore your body quickly.

Whiteside Mountain (Moderate)

Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail is a 1.9 mile, heavily-trafficked loop trail located near Highlands, NC. The hike features beautiful views of the North Carolina and South Carolina mountains and is rated as moderate. This trail has a drive time of an hour. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips and birding and is accessible year round. Dogs are able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Yin Yoga

This class uses various yoga postures to stimulate the body’s connective tissue to create greater flexibility. Most of the practice is done on the ground with use of props. Poses can be held anywhere from 3 to ten minutes and include hip, hamstring and shoulder openings.

Yoga Flow

In this class, you’ll experience vinyasa yoga, one of the most popular contemporary styles in which movement is synchronized with the breath. Sequences are linked together mindfully to build strength, flexibility and resilience through continuous movement.

Yoga for Balance

Join us in this liberating, balance-inspired flow class. The intention of this practice is to effectively focus on the muscular network of the spine, back and core. By combining breath-work and balancing movements, you will truly integrate mind and body.

Yoga for Strength

Are you looking for a stronger, more static, strength-based practice? By combining functional strength postures and longer holds, this creative yet dynamic and balanced practice of breath and strength-inspired movements will surely enliven the fire within. Come embrace your internal heat and honor your personal power and vigor!

Yoga Nidra

Also known as yogic sleep, yoga nidra is a fully supported and reclined meditation practice that nurtures physical and emotional healing. This deep state of conscious rest helps you de-stress and sleep better. It can also evoke a sense of clarity and nourish understanding of your higher purpose.
