Ingredients
- 2 lbs. Ground turkey
- 2 each Granny smith apples, peeled and minced
- 2 tsp. Maple syrup
- 2 tsp. Ground sage
- 2 tsp. Red pepper flakes
- 2 tsp. Ground thyme
- 1 tsp. Garlic powder
- 1 tsp. Onion powder
- ¼ tsp. Cayenne pepper
- to taste Salt and pepper
- 4 T. Olive oil, separated
Instructions
- Stir together all ingredients except for the ground turkey, maple syrup, and apple in a small bowl.
- Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and set aside.
- Wearing gloves, in a large bowl, break up the ground turkey a bit, then pour in the seasoning mixture, maple syrup, and apple. Use your hands to combine the mixture.
- Divide the mixture into 16, 2oz portions, then form into patties about 2 ½-inches wide.
- Place patties on the prepared baking sheet, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- When you’re ready to cook the sausage, heat a splash of oil in a nonstick or cast iron pan over medium heat.
- Working in batches, sear the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until internal temperature is 165F. Enjoy!
